Gubernatorial candidates agree to League of Women Voters debate — except for Cuomo
By Nolan Hicks
Every gubernatorial candidate in the state — except Gov. Cuomo — agreed Friday to attend a debate organized by the League of Women Voters.
Cuomo has come under heavy fire for his ongoing refusal to agree to a televised debate with his opponents.
The debate would be held in Albany during the last week of October.
“Thank you… for agreeing to participate in our debate!!!!,” the League tweeted at the candidates who accepted.
“This is how you make democracy work! The voters deserve to hear your plans for this great state. One more candidate to go!”
They listed all four candidates who had agreed — Republican Marc Molinaro; independent Stephanie Miner; Howie Hawkins of the Green Party and Libertarian Larry Sharpe.
The only one missing was Cuomo.
