Hawkins Election Night Party in Syracuse at Sugar Magnolia

Howie Hawkins, the Green Party candidate for Governor, will hold an election night party at Sugar Magnolia restaurant, 316 S Clinton St. Syracuse.
An initial set of speeches will take place around 9:45 PM.
Hawkins is seeking for the third time in a row to win enough vote to continue the Green Party’s ballot status in New York, making it much easier to field candidates.
Frank Cetera, the Green candidate for Syracuse Common Council at-large, will also be present.

Hawkins To Outline How New York Should End Income Inequality
Howie Hawkins, the Green Party candidate for Governor, will hold a news conference on Saturday November 3 at the Rochester Public Market, 280 Union St N, to outline his plan to end income inequality in New York. The news conference will be at 10 AM at the main entrance to the market.
Hawkins will be at the market during the morning (starting at 8 AM) along with Michael Sussman, the Green Party candidate for Attorney General.
The share of income going to the top 1% of the state has grown from 12% in 1980 to 33% in 2015. New York has the highest income inequality of any state in the nation.
A new study out this week found that about two-thirds of the jobs in New York’s metropolitan regions don’t pay enough to support what is commonly considered a middle-class lifestyle.

Hawkins To Call for NY to Take Action to Protect Residents from Oil Bomb Trains
Howie Hawkins, the Green Party candidate for Governor, will hold a news conference at the Amtrak Station, 55 Dick Road, Depew on Wednesday October 31 at 2 PM to discuss his gubernatorial campaign.
Hawkins will call for state action to protect area residents from the dangers presented by oil bomb trains. The State Department of Transportation has not released the track inspection reports since February 2017 while the Trump administration has overturned rules enacted by the Obama administration for safer brake system requirements.
Hawkins will also discuss the need for increase funding statewide for mass transit.
Hawkins will discuss the only inclusive gubernatorial debate, sponsored by the NYS League of Women Voters, that will take place on Thursday November 1 at the College of St. Rose in Albany.

Green Party Candidates in Utica to Discuss Campaign, Upstate Fiscal Relief, Debates
Howie Hawkins, the Green Party candidate for Governor, and Mark Dunlea, the Green Party candidate for Comptroller, will make their last stop in Utica before election day on Tuesday October 30. They will hold a news conference at 10:30 AM at Cafe Domenico, 2011 Genesee St., Utica.
The candidates will discuss this week’s debates for Comptroller and Governor. The League of Women Voters is sponsoring the first inclusive debate in the Gubernatorial race this Thursday November 1 at the College of St. Rose in Albany.
They will also discuss the need for fiscal relief for upstate communities and the need for an emergency mobilization to respond to climate change. The United Nations recently warned that the world needs to take dramatic action to end greenhouse gas emissions within the next 12 years.
The Greens say that the two major parties have show themselves incapable of solving pressing problems in NY, such as the high level of lead contamination experienced by children.

Hawkins and Sussman to Outline Campaign Agendas on Segregation and Former Offenders
The Green Party candidates for Governor and Attorney General will hold a news conference on Monday October 29 in White Plains to discuss their campaigns. The event will be at 12:30 PM in front of the White Plains city Hill at 255 Main St.
In addition to this week’s Gubernatorial debate sponsored by the League of Women Voters, Hawkins, a retired Teamster from Syracuse, will outline his positions on housing, education and segregation. Hawkins, who finished 3rd with 5% of the vote in the 2014 Gubernatorial race, is the only progressive on the ballot for Governor on November 6.
Sussman, the veteran civil rights and constitutional attorney from Orange County, will outline his platform, including the need to provide additional support to former offenders returning to the community.
Sussman will outline how the current operation of the Attorney General’s office protects corruption, and undermines the fair application of justice. His plans will end those practices.
