Will the third time be the charm? Howie Hawkins hopes so.
The Syracuse resident announced Thursday he will seek the Green Party nomination to run for Governor of New York. Hawkins was the Green Party candidate in the 2010 and 2014 elections for governor. Since Hawkins obtained more than 50-THOUSAND votes in 2010, the Green Party has an automatic spot on the New York ballot. As he seeks the state’s top spot, Hawkins says he is running for Governor to demand more progressive reforms and system change.
Hawkins finished 3rd in the 2014 Gubernatorial race.
