Andrew Cuomo has agreed to hold a single debate with Cynthia Nixon, on Wednesday, August 29th. The debate will air on CBS2 at 7 PM. Howie Hawkins, Green Party candidate for NYS governor will go live for his response at 8:15pm. 

Earlier this year, SOAR, Democracy Matters and a number of organizations and concerned individuals sent a letter to all of the gubernatorial candidates. In the letter, we asked the next governor of New York State to support the fight against sweatshops and stand behind our demands (Read the letter here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1yKASEFBzatizti95n5KlAYVhn_n3I9dP/view?usp=sharing). After Hawkins' response to the debate, we will hold a discussion on the candidates' responses to our demands and what they are intended to do about sweatshop practices like mandatory overtime.
